ABC Playgroup

STOP PRESS:  17 March 2020

In the light of recent government advice we have taken the decision that ABC will no longer meet until further notice.   It is a difficult and uncertain time but you dont' have to face it alone.  We are still here and would love to keep in contact with you, visit our facebook page   https://www.facebook.com/abcguildford

What is ABC?

ABC (Adults, Babies & Children) is our fun & friendly playgroup that meets in the hall on Wednesday mornings, during term time, from 9.30-11.30am. It is an opportunity for parents, grandparents & carers to relax and make friends while their pre-school aged children play.

What happens each week?
Lots of fun, coffee & chat for everyone! We have lots of different toys suitable for all ages including a dedicated baby area, climbing frame & slide, small world areas, role play area, craft table and an outside garden with ride-ons and trikes.

Our doors open at 9.30am for free play, with refreshments available from the kitchen throughout the morning. Around 11am we tidy all the toys ready for our story and singing time which finishes at 11.30am.

How much does it cost?
There is a suggested donation of £1.50 per family to help towards the running costs.

What refreshments are available?
There is always plenty of free tea & coffee, including herbal teas, avavilable for adults along with biscuits. For the children, we provide squash & water in beakers as well as fruit, breadsticks and rice cakes for them to nibble on during the morning. There is no specific snack time but there are snack tables to sit at, which does reduce mess around the toys!

What facilities are available?
We have baby change facilities in both the female and male toilets, as well as potties. We also keep a small supply of spare wipes & nappies incase of emergencies.

Who runs ABC?
We are lucky that as a Church we have a great team of volunteers who help with our Children's work, and many of them also volunteer on a weekly basis at ABC. We rely on this team of volunteers to make sure the group runs smoothly, whether that's helping to set up the toys, making tea and coffee, manning the doors or playing the piano at singing time. We really couldn't do it without them!

Where can I find out more?
