Women's Ministry

This is a chance to get together with women of all ages, for an informal and friendly evenings to think about an important issue, to be encouraged in faith, and to share our experiences – or just listen to others.

Christ Church is committed to encouraging and discipling women as part of our vision to ‘Know Christ better and to make Christ better known’.  We are keen that women play a full part in the service, leadership and mission of the Church and very grateful to the many women who contribute to the life of the church family. Alongside Women’s Forum, we have a number of “women only” Life Groups which meet at various times of the week - please contact Nick Williams to find out more.  We also periodically have social events.

Bible Study Fellowship (BSF)

Christ Church also hosts Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) on Monday evenings, September through the year to May, term time only, 7-8.30pm. Women from any, and no, church are welcome to come along for in-depth bible teaching and study.  There are also groups for children and young people over the age of 5 years, that meet at the same time.  For more information on this please contact Sue Peckham.  During 2018-19, BSF is studying the a programme exploring the lives and faith of a selection of prophets from the Old Testament under a course called "People of the Promised Land 1"

Women's Forum

As part of our desire to help women grow in their faith, our termly Women’s Forum meetings are committed to creating a space where women can be discipled, supported, prayed for, equipped, nourished and loved.

The meetings are organised by a small planning group - others wishing to get involved are always welcome.
We also support a local women's refuge through gifting essential items on a regular basis in the form of “Welcome Packs”.  Once or twice a year the women of Christ Church are invited to donate from a list of requested items ranging from tin openers to toothpaste to bath towels.  We also make special donations at other times of the year to respond to specific needs or simply to celebrate Christmas, Easter or other festivals.
