It was wonderful to have Bishop Paul with us for St. David’s Day, sharing with us some of his faith journey and also something of the life of St. David. Whilst not a lot is known about the detail of David’s life, his birth was the result of the rape of his mother Non by a Welsh prince. He was a vegetarian and teetotal monk who lived a simple life but is credited with performing miracles as well as establishing a number of churches and monastic communities. Bishop Paul shared that his pectoral cross was designed in the shape of Non’s cross and bears David’s final words on the back “ Be joyful, keep the faith and do the little things.” A helpful message for us all.
